Living In A World Without The Word

What does your Bible mean to you? How precious are the words of God to you? How affected would your life be, if you were not allowed to have a Bible or didn’t have access to one? Would you miss it? If all the Bibles were rounded up tomorrow, have you hidden enough scripture in your heart to sustain you?

Psalm 119:10-16 KJV

Growing up in the Southern part of the United States, I have never had a time where a Bible wasn’t accessible to me. In fact, I have multiple copies of the King James Bible in my room, as well as, around the house. I keep two on my nightstand by my bed. I have one in a pew at church. At any given time, I can pick up one of the multiple copies of the King James Bible I own and read it when I want to. The words of God are always at my fingertips, and it has been that way my entire life.

As I am typing this, tears come to my eyes because I am so ashamed and convicted of how much I take God’s Holy Word for granted. Not only do I take His word for granted, but I take for granted the fact I live in a place with a church on every corner. I take for granted I have grown up in church, and each church has had men and women who poured the love of God and time into my life so I could know Him too. I have had amazing pastors, one of them being my dad, who has used the calling God placed on their lives to share the word of God with me. I have taken for granted being raised by Christian parents in a Christian home. I could continue to list the many blessings God has bestowed upon my life that I take for granted, and I feel that most who are reading this could probably say the same. So I ask again, if God’s word was taken from you or the doors of your local church were closed, how much would it affect your life?

I ask this because there are people all over the world who don’t have the luxury and the privilege of God’s word or a Bible-believing church to attend. If they do have a church to attend, some walk for miles to get there. Some sit on a hard bench with no air conditioning to listen to the Words of God. Some sit in the hot sun under a tree to hear the preached word. Many others around the world have never had the opportunity to hear the truth and hope of the gospel. Others face persecution if they are found with a Bible or are caught having a church service. Do you understand how blessed we are here in America?

Directline Ministry Statistics of Scriptures Shipped from 2023-Present

Directline Ministry is the ministry we are donating to until the end of September. Their mission is to send Bibles and Christian literature to missionaries, church planters, orphanages, and Christian schools in over 30 countries worldwide. Directline Ministry has been established since 1999. God has and is continuing to use them to get Bibles to people all over the world. Since 2023, they have shipped 19 containers with 3,237,741 copies of John and Romans, 51,260 New Testaments, 135,381 whole Bibles, and 1,588,420 gospel tracts.

Not only do they send out Bibles and other literature, but they also put together Christmas Joy Bags. These bags contain everyday essentials, a few treats, and the gospel. These bags are sent all over the world to be given out by missionaries to children in the areas they are serving. The bags have opened the doors for many missionaries to go into towns and villages to share the gospel.

Directline Ministry is also currently developing and working on a program in Saltillo, Mexico. This program will be used to train men and women to work in their local churches. They will attend the program and then take what they learn back to their home church to be utilized in sharing the gospel and growing the church in their local community.

It is truly amazing to see how God is using Directline Ministry. It is a humbling thought to think about people living all over the world without God in their lives, but thanks to ministries like Directline Ministry, they are getting God’s word into hands all over the world. Please pray for this wonderful ministry and all they are doing to further the gospel.

The Holy Bible

Please stop and thank God for all He has blessed you with. Thank Him for the Bible. Thank Him for the church. Thank Him for the workers He has put in your life.
